Update to Happy Easter

I thought you all would love to see how the blanket came out!

She's here!!!!!

I always forget how busy the summer is with all the birthday's and holidays and bam soon as it slows down its back to school.

My granddaughter arrived in the world safely. She is about 3 weeks old now. Tali is a precious girl. I did finish her blanket in time and even made another, shaped like a lilypad, all before she was born! I have been so busy with family and friends and the new baby it has been difficult to get anything done! I have listed a few new items in both stores and I am finishing up what is to be Ksaun's signature blanket. I plan to gift it to my god son for his baby due to be born in october.

There are a few crafting events coming up this August so we are hoping to make an appearance at least 2 of them.

My daughter and the baby are coming this morning to take me over to Michael's for a few skeins of yarn so I need to go get ready. Until my return keep it chaotic!

Out with the old and in with the new.

I realize I have been a terrible blogger. I am really trying to get the hang of all this. I have been very busy. After much evalutation we decided our business needed a severe makeover! So we changed our name, changed our look, and added some new products. We are very excited about it. Now, that the new e-shop is set up I am hoping to have more time to blog! We have also set up a pinterest account and boy is pinterest fun. One day I found myself pinning all day. Do you all pin? Post your account in the comments I'd love to check out your boards.

In other news we have two more months before the grandbaby is due to arrive amd it is really inspiring me to create all sorts of new things. The excitement is mounting. The first grandchild is such a very big deal and watching my daughter create life has been such a magical experience.

I know it has been awhile but I really have to run. I hope you will visit us at our other pages and check out our shop.

Halter Heaven

Why can I not get my mind off these halter tops!!!!! I made the first as a test. I knew that I could make it but truth is everything isn't fun to create. In a week's time I had made 3! I have been wearing them every where and people just love them. I had to revamp them a little till now I have a product I am 100% happy with.

The problem now seems to be that is all I want to make lol. I need to get back into grandbaby mode so I can finish her items before she gets here. I need some baby motivation because right now I just keep thinking about all the pretty colors I can make the halter tops in.

I think I am going to try making another one using a thin baby yarn and see how that works out. I am a little worried that the thinner yarn will not be able to hold the boobages (breast) up as well as the other yarn. This will be an interesting experiment!

Also, my crafty friends in my facebook group have challenged me to make a skirt so I think I will give that a try as well. See women's clothing is so exciting right now it is hard to get back into baby mode!

You crafty people pray for me to get it together. Until next time you all stay crafty and I am going to try to bering some order to my chaotic crochet.

Something for me

Hello crafty friends! Well, I ran out of yarn while making my granddaughters blanket, total bummer there. (I really need a yarn fairy that just brings me yarn when I need it ha ha ha). Of course I decided to make her blanket with "I love this yarn" which is only sold at Hobby Lobby. The closest Hobby Lobby is on the other side of town 30 minutes away! I just haven't been in the mood to battle my wheelchair and handicap to make the trip. Today, I decide to try and make a top I saw someone in one of my crochet groups make. It was just so cute! I gathered together some of my scrap yarn ( colors I thought would work well together) and gave it a whirl! I couldn't be more happy with the results! Matter of fact I have the top on right now. You all will be the first to see it ( provided like me you are up in the middle of the night). I love making and wearing the top so much I sent my honey straight to the store to get more yarn so I could make another and I am halfway done with it! Tell me what you think. I am just so enthused with myself right now. It's one in the morning so I am going to try to get some rest. I can't wait to share the next done with you. Until then click your hooks three times and repeat there's no place like yarn. It won't take you anywhere but it may relax your nerves and heck it's fun to say.

Happy Easter

Hello friends! Happy Easter! I thought I would stop by and give you all a sneak peek at what I have been working on. This is a special blanket I am working on for my granddaughter. I cannot wait to finish it. I am thinking the trim should be ruffles, ribbons, and tassels. What can be more girly than that? Still I am open for any suggestions if you all have any. I am off to prepare for family dinner tonight. I wanted to stop in and wish you all a happy holiday. Until next time .  . . be crafty!

She's back !!!!

Hello hello hello! Happy Sunday to you! I am drinking a tall cup of coffee trying ro decide what I am going to watch while I crochet. You'd think this wouldn't be a big deal but I have found that certain shows have so much excitement that I actually stop crocheting. For example the walking dead. I can never seem to get anything done during that show! My show of choice would be Law and Order. It's exciting enough to hold my attention but no so exciting I forget to crochet. If I catch a good marathon I can get a lot done and there is so much to do. I want the baby's wardrobe to be 75% crocheted plus wash cloths and blankets.

I did get that sweater finished and ecwn started a blanket. I decided to go the fancy route for the blanket. Not my usual forte. So far I am proud of the results.

Well I am going to get to work. I wanted to stop by and say hello to all my friends. Oh, and of course show off the sweater I made. If feels good to be back in creation mode.

MIA

Hello craft lovers! I know I have been gone quite awhile. I was thinking what will I tell my readers. What can I say that they will accept. I decided that I needed to tell the truth. I struggling with an anxiety disorder called PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Lots of jokes are told in reference to this disorder especially concerning soldiers. The reality of it is no laughing matter. Anyway for me when my anxiety levels become too high I shut down. I can't function, I can't think straight, I can't create, and just getting up everyday to take care of my family is a struggle. I am still not 100% and I do have days that I feel 100%. Right now I am operating at about 75 but the good news is I have picked up my hook! I am back to creating! Today I have an adorable pink sweater that need to embellish. With the baby coming in just for months I don't have much down time left! I can't wait to share what I have made. So until tomorrow stay crafty and cime back soon cause you never know what is going to happen with this chaotic crocheter!

Sunny Florida

Sunny Florida is not so sunny today. It's cold, dreary, and rainy. What's a chaotic crocheter to do when there is no sunshine to motivate her? Well, I have a warm blanket, a cup of coffe, needles, yarn and netflix. I guess it's going to be one of those lazy Saturdays. With a grandbaby on the way there is no telling what I am going to create! Stay tuned..... I'll keep you posted.

Baby's on the way!

I found out I am going to be a grandma recently and it has really occupied all of my time. Then we found out it was a girl. Well as the mother of 9 sons this was music to my ears. I have 3 daughters but my last 3 children have been boys and I have been aching for a little girl to wear my creations. So in honor of my granddaughter whom I have nicknamed Tali I designed a new dress. Tell me what you think of it.

A do over

Yesterday was wonderful. Sometimes my job consists of more than just crocheting. There is computer work to be done and other uninteresting tedius type tasks but yesterday we went on location! Oh it was beautiful, fun, and relaxing! We spent 5 hours in the park photographing our work. The natural lighting was great! Being able to use nature as a prop was icing on the cake. I want to share some of it with you. Follow us on instagram to see more photos! @ h2h_designs

Two down!

Hip Hip Hurray! I am happy to report that I have been able to cross a few items off my unfinished projects list. First I sewed the buttons onto my shawl, then I finished a corner to corner blanket that I had started two months back. Once I was done with that I pulled out a cream and gold colored shawl I was working on (same as I made myself different color) and I finished that too. I even put the buttons on it lol. (Pats self on the back). When I first started Heart 2 Heart the main focus was baby clothes. I love to crochet baby clothes because there is nothing better than a well dressed baby. It makes people happy to see babies dressed up cute and I love to make people happy. I love to give gifts and when I share my creation with someone I feel like I shared the gift of my love. My heart is in that project, my soul, a piece of me sent to make someone happy. There really is no better feeling. Enough of the sappy stuff though I bet you are dying to see this shawl I have been babbling on about. Ok, go ahead and scroll a little.
So what do you think? Worth the hype or no? I simply love it. People think because I live in Florida now that it doesn't get cold but it does. Well at least it does here in Orlando where I live. Plus not sure if you notice restaurants, coffee shops, and stores tend to keep it real cold. This shawl is perfect to take some of that chill off! Like I said I also made one in a cream and gold color. It
doesn't have a hat though. Here it is:
I used a yarn that I don't normally use for this particular shawl. It's Loops and Thread Glitter. I really like it and I think I am going to buy some and make shawls in other colors too.

Now, I know this is off topic but I have been asked why I named my blog Chaotic Crochet if my business name is Heart 2 Heart. Do I hope that the blog will boost the business and the business will boost the blog? Of course who wouldn't but they are two different parts of me and I wanted that to be obvious. Heart 2 Heart is my business. There you get to see finished products available for sale. This is my blog where you get to see me, all of me. Sometimes (most times) I will be happy, cheerful, and silly. There will be times that I am frustrated or sad about a failed project. Here I hope to show you wips (works in progress), failed attempts, items that I only crocheted for friends and family and may never make it into the store for some reason or another. This blog is all that I am which helps to make up my business. Really, I hope to begin interacting with people through this blog. All are welcome, well all positive people are welcome. No one wants to get online to read a bunch of negativity. I hope that you will share your patterns with me, your ideas, your constructive criticisms and your general comments. Who knows we may just become fast friends!!!! I am new at this so it may be a little rocky in the beginning but hang in there with me.

Anyway talking to you all is great motivation. I am going to try and work on something tonight. I have a dog bed, sailor dress (that will take awhile), a t-shirt, a purse, and a giraffe blanket to finish. All of those are still in their beginning stages. Not to mention I am itching, I mean really itching to create a skirt for my daughter's Our generation doll. I want it to have have the look of those fifty's dresses can't recall what they were called. It is on the tip of my tongue or in this case tip of my fingers ha ha ha . Anyway can't think of it but it is the dresses with all the fringe but I want this one to be a skirt. I think it will be cute.

Well, friends it is about time for me to go. Of course I could chat all day but I do have work to do but I will be back soon to tell you what this chaotic crocheter is up to, till then stay crafty!

Chaotic Crafter

Howdy do friends! You are probably wondering where I have been? Mostly crafting and quite chaotically lol. I am always surrounded by craft supplies. I work from my bed mostly because of my limited mobility. Around me is always containers filled with sewing materials, boxes of ribbon, buttons, flowers, and bows. There are also  rubber maid tubs and zippered storage bags full of yarn. There is measuring tape, mannequin bodies and heads, not to mention the crochet needles that are everywhere! I read once though that all artist were "messy". I think it is just that once the juices get flowing your mind is on one track and you are trying to create, design, discover, and not loose the momentum. I really can't explain it, when I am in the zone I am just in the zone.

One a week I straighten up the mess and the process continues. This week I decided to clean a little deeper. You know, roll loose yarn into balls, color code the buttons, re-wrap the ribbon onto the spool, put all the needles together on a hook, and roll all the thread back onto the spool and put it in its box. In doing all of this I located several projects that were started and then forgotten. That is not unlike me. I would actually consider it my style. Yes, Chaotic can be a style. I will start something and sometimes half way through I get an idea on something else and I just have to start it, you know before the idea escapes me. Sometimes I am bored and that is what motivates me to start something new. Next thing I know I have like 5 projects going at once which sounds very unorganized but for me it is not. It is my organized mess and it helps to keep my creative juices flowing. I also rather like that since I will work on all 5 projects at once I tend to complete them all one behind the other which is a serious creativity rush. It looks like I will be pulling an all crochet weekend though to get some of these projects done. I also found a few finished items that never made it to their photo shoot so I did that the other day too. Here I will give you a sneak peek.....

So, what do you think? I will be uploading these to my etsy store over the next few days. Oh this reminds me about our last chat. Remember I mentioned making myself a hat, shawl, and purse set? Well, I was bursting with creativity last time and I made the hat that very night! Wearing the hat really motivated me to finish the shawl, and I finally finished that about two days ago! I still have to put buttons on it (it is more of a cape than a shawl) and I have to start the purse but I am excited to have completed something for myself. Yay me!

I wish I could sit and talk all day but I do have a business to run, after all isn't that what this is all about? You all should stop by my etsy page and let me know what you think?  Heart 2 Heart. I have really worked hard on it but I have not gotten much verbal feedback. You can send me a message there or check me out on fb Facebook and message me there. Either way I would love to hear you what you have to say.

I am off to craft land. I have a beautiful corner to corner blanket to finish. I am hoping to share a photo of it the next time I post. It is about 3/4 the way complete. Come back and see me though because you never know what will be next in this chaotic crochet life.

Will the real project please stand up

When it comes to crochet I am the equivalent of a five year old child in a candy store, jumping from one project to another. I have been known to have up to 7 projects going at one time! Why all the chaos? The problem is...I hate to be bored and it could take time before a project begins to look like something recognizable. If you are not a crocheter let me just say that sometimes the moments get redundant. For this reason I tend to watch television while I crochet. I can get a project done real fast if I am watching a good show or movie. Other times my boredom does not stem from the fact that the project is redundant. Sometimes I am in the process of creating something fabulous when and idea hits me and I have to start on it right then! I just have to! I don't want to lose the idea (and I can't draw to save my life so sketching it is out of the question unless we crocheting stick figures). As longs as it is there in my  pile of "needs to be worked on" stuff I won't forget it and one day life will be crocheted into it.

This chaotic way of doing things does work for me (crazy at it sounds). The projects do not sit long. It nothing major is going on (usually it isn't) I will declare it a "nothing but crochet" weekend  and do nothing but crochet and watch netflix. For some reason this fuels me. As the pile gets smaller the more I want to crochet and get to the bottom, it's like a competition I am having with myself. I guess every artist has a method to their madness.

Currently I am working on a sailor dress for a baby girl but not an ordinary sailor dress. More like a sailor dress with a twist. I'm not revealing the twist until later. I have to give you something to look forward to. I am also working on a dog bed for my canine cousin Petey who lives with my his mother my cousin Lisa. My final project is a set. I have convinced myself it is time for me to make myself something nice so I have a hat, shawl, and purse set in the works. I plan for it to be amazing! We'll see if it actually happens though. I almost never finish anything I am making for myself. I always get distracted making stuff for others.

All this talk of crafting and creating has me itching to start a new project! Stay crafty and stop back by you never know what will happen in this chaotic crocheter's life. :)
